We were engaged to provide groundworks for the installation of a 100kW EV charger, designed to accommodate large commercial vehicles. This project, while small in scale, showcased our ability to handle complex and technically challenging installations that go beyond the typical EV charger groundwork.

Scope of Work

• Core drilling into the existing substation.

• Excavation of a trench through heavily cabled ground, requiring continuous monitoring for underground power lines.

• Close collaboration with the electrical contractor to ensure safe and efficient connection of the charger.

• Restoration of the site, including a tarmac finish, white lining, and parking bay marking.

• Innovative approach to working around a security fence that could not be removed, completing excavation and groundwork on both sides.
  
  

Challenges & Solutions

• Complex underground conditions: The site contained multiple underground utilities, which required careful planning, monitoring, and precision excavation.

• Restricted access: The presence of an immovable security fence necessitated working on both sides, requiring detailed coordination and creative planning to maintain safety and efficiency.

• High-quality finish: Despite the challenges, the site was fully restored with tarmac surfacing, line markings, and parking bays, meeting the client’s operational and aesthetic requirements.
